The history of this country is nothing like the size of it. There have been studies showing that Bhutan could have been inhabited as early as 2000 B.C. Bhutan’s religious and political history are interlaced together with connection to monasteries and monastic schools. In 1616 the amalgamation of Bhutan took place when a Tibetan by the name of Ngawana Namgyal conquered three Tibetan invasions and took over as ruler.
Bhutan’s economy is based on tourism, forestry, agriculture and hydroelectricity. With trade relations with India and Bangladesh, Bhutan’s economy looks bright. Tourism in Bhutan is expected to rise but with restrictions on the number of tourists and spending, it will not accelerate very quickly.
Depending on what part of Bhutan the temperature can vary. During the winter the average temperature during the day can be 60 degrees Fahrenheit and drop during the night to below freezing. On the average during the summer the temperature is around 86 degrees Fahrenheit and more centralized it is much warmer. During the spring and autumn is the best time to travel to Bhutan with temperatures being pleasant.
